how to handle school bullying
A story of abuse and humiliation with redemption
On this occasion, I want to tell you a story of abuse and humiliation with redemption. The story takes place in an elementary school where there was typically a group of abusive boys and a girl who received their attacks silently and without protest.
In a small town called Armonía, there lived two children with very different personalities. Carla, a kind and humble girl, was always willing to help her classmates at school. Martín, on the other hand, was very proud and often made fun of others, especially Carla, because he thought that being nice was a sign of weakness.
At school, Martin led a group of children who made fun of everything and everyone, especially Carla. They called her «Carla the Complaisant» because she always offered her help to everyone. Carla felt sad and alone, but she remained kind, hoping that one day Martín and his group would change their attitude.
One day, the class teacher, Mr. Perez, noticed that something was not right. He decided to talk to Carla after class. Carla, with tears in her eyes, told Mr. Pérez everything. The teacher, very wisely, decided to organize a special activity for the class. He called Samuel, Carla’s grandfather, who was known in the town for his stories full of teachings.
Samuel told them a story about a young deer named Lucas, who was very proud and always boasted of being the most beautiful and fastest in the forest. But one day, he got caught in a trap and, not wanting to ask for help, he was about to lose everything. In the end, when the other animals in the forest helped him free himself, he understood that humility and friendship were much more important than his pride.
After hearing Samuel’s story, the children thought. Martin, in particular, felt ashamed of his behavior. He realized that he had been arrogant and cruel to Carla for no reason.
The next day, Martin approached Carla during recess. With his head lowered, he apologized for all the times he had made her feel bad. Carla, with her big heart, accepted his apology and offered him her friendship.
From that day on, the class at Harmony’s school changed. The children began to support each other, following Carla’s example and remembering the story of Lucas the deer. Martín became a great friend of Carla and learned to be humble and respectful of others.
Mr. Pérez and Samuel were very proud of their students. They knew they had learned a valuable lesson about pride, humility, and the importance of treating everyone with respect and empathy.
And so, in the small town of Armonía, friendship and humility flourished, proving that even the proudest hearts can change for the better.
